Breaking in the Oympics
Our Sentiments
The 2024 Paris Olympics marked a historic moment for our culture, breaking or breakdancing (commercial inaccurate term), made its debut as an Olympic sport. A surreal moment for all of us who grew up knowing it to be only an artform, and commercially unrecognized since the start. From battling on the streets to competing under the Olympic rings – a journey that has been nothing short of extraordinary.
The inclusion of breaking in the 2024 Paris Olympics is more than just a sporting milestone; it’s a cultural revolution and a validation of our art form. For years, breaking has only been an underground movement, a way of life for those who understood its rhythm and soul.
An Open Invitation
This is an open invitation to anyone who feels the beat in their heart. Whether you’re a seasoned B-boy or B-girl, or just someone curious about the culture, there’s a place for you in the breaking community. It’s a space where individuality shines, where creativity is boundless, and where athleticism meets artistry.
The Olympics has undoubtedly put a spotlight on breaking, but it’s just the beginning. The real magic happens in the streets, in the cyphers, and in the hearts of those who truly live the culture. As we continue to break barriers and redefine what it means to be an athlete and an artist, we’re excited to see where this journey takes us.
